Who Can File a Lien?
A Mechanic’s Lien or Construction Lien Claim can be filed by a contractor, subcontractor or supplier who has provided labor or materials for a construction project and has not been paid.
In general, anyone who provides labor, materials or professional services for the improvement or construction of a property can file a mechanic’s lien. These services include:

A Mechanic’s Lien or Construction Lien Claim is a legal claim against the title of a property for unpaid work, materials or professional services used in the construction or renovation of a property. A Mechanic’s Lien places a hold on the property and prevents it from being sold or refinanced until you are paid.
